    Guidelines for Abstract Submission

    Abstracts are a comprehensive summary of an author’s oral or poster presentations of their original research, meta-analysis or advances in applied psychological practice. Previously published work should not be submitted unless updated by new findings, data or methods. The submitted abstracts must contain the title (up to 20 words) and the following sections: objective, method, results and conclusions. Its maximum length should not exceed 300 words. References, tables or pictures cannot be included in the abstract.

    When submitting an abstract it is necessary to provide a presenting author, who must register for the ECP in order for the abstract to be published in the congress proceedings and presented at the congress. The presenting author is responsible for notifying the co-authors about the acceptance of the abstract and obtaining a conflict-of-interest disclosure from them.
    Abstracts may be submitted for different types of presentations:
    −    Symposia: 3–5 presentations from different countries, including guided discussion around a common topic, professional issue or research issue of particular relevance (duration 90 minutes, including discussion;
    −    Individual presentations: individual presentation in a chaired thematic session (15-20 minutes, including discussion);
    −    Posters: Printed-paper posters & e-posters will be displayed, and poster viewing sessions will be organized, allowing congress participants to interact with the poster authors;
    −    Workshops: Experiential learning sessions with active participation of workshop participants will last 90 minutes and will follow a common structure: introduction, main activity, and reflective discussion;
    −    Pro et contra debate: 45-minute discussions on different contemporary or/and controversial topics in psychology and related sciences.

    The Scientific Programme Committee may reassign submitted presentations between formats at its discretion.
    Notification regarding abstract acceptance and scheduling will be sent to the presenting author together with detailed information and guidelines for the presentation.

    Authors are solely responsible for the ethical and scientific content presented in the abstracts.

    Abstracts must be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication.

    At least one author from each accepted contribution (i.e., the presenting author) must register for the ECP 2022 by March 31th, 2022, for the abstract to be included in the final programme.
    Abstracts can only be submitted via the online web forms.
    The authors submitting the abstract will be required to create a user account in order to submit an abstract. The submission form allows authors to store their abstract as a draft, allowing them to make subsequent changes before submitting the abstract. Once authors submit an abstract they will be notified that their abstract was received via e-mail immediately. Should this not occur within 24 hours, please check your spam folder. In case you do not received confirmation via e-mail, please contact: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

    The Scientific Programme Committee will review all submitted abstracts in collaboration with a panel of international experts according to the following criteria:
    −    Relevance to the conference’s main topics
    −    Significance and implications for theory, policy, and practice
    −    Theoretical framework, conceptual rationale, or pragmatic grounding
    −    Research method and design (research questions, context, participants, data sources, sampling, procedure, ethical issues)
    −    Overall quality and scientific originality

    If you send your abstract before the deadline, 10th November 2021, you can expect notification of acceptance by the end of 2021.
    If more than three abstracts are submitted by the same presenting author, the Scientific Program Committee may reject some of these abstracts to secure a balanced and varied scientific programme.
    We look forward to receiving your abstracts and seeing you in Ljubljana in 2022.

    With best regards,

    Mojca Juriševič
    Chair of the Scientific Programme Committee
